According to the Guinness Book of World Records, a Great Dane Freddy is officially the tallest dog in the world. When standing on his back legs, this 8-year-old canine is over 7 feet 4 inches tall. Freddy weighs about 210 pounds and has a big appetite, eating mostly kibble, minced beef, roast chicken, and treats. To feed him properly, his owner, Claire Stoneman from Weeting, Norfolk, UK, spends around $630 a month.
Stoneman told the New York Post: “Despite their size, they’re very kind-natured and put their paws on you if they know you’re upset. They love cuddling, and I sleep with them on two mattresses in the living room at night.” She also added: “Freddy was actually the runt of the litter and now he’s got a Guinness World Record and is set to reach a second.” During the summer of this year, the New York Post created an article on Freddie and spread the word about this wonderful animal. Freddy even has his own Instagram page named freddygreatdane. His “rise the fame” started when Freddy was visiting the local show called “This Morning.” At this show, the public had a chance to see this adorable dog for the first time.
Recently, Freddie has set a new record as the oldest of his breed at the grand age of eight. Although she is glad that he has managed to get in the Guinness Book of World Records again, Claire is also worried: “I’m very worried about Freddy and know that I’m lucky to still have him at this age. He’s extremely spoiled and can have whatever he wants these days! I could never have children so Freddy and Fleur are definitely my babies.”
